This beautiful tile depicts the historic Mission San Xavier Del Bac. The mission is a fully functioning Roman Catholic mission and a historic landmark in Tucson Arizona. It was founded as a Catholic mission by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction started in 1783 and the work was completed in 1797. Arizona was part of New Spain during this period.
