Mission Arts and Crafts Ceramic Mexican Tile Collection

The Mission Arts and Crafts Ceramic Mexican Tile Collection is one square foot (nine 4"x4" tiles) featuring beautiful Mission style or Arts and Craft style designs in terra cotta and slate colors. Our exquisite raised-relief decorative Prima line provides the highest quality, high fired Mexican ceramic tile in both gloss and matte finishes. These delightful, textured tiles are sometimes referred to as Malibu tile or Santa Barbara tile.

These premium high-relief tiles are each individually handmade using the ancient Spanish method called Cuerda Seca (Dry Cord). The artist first traces the design onto a blank tile, then painstakingly applies each color of paint using a bulb syringe. Once the design is perfect, the tile is then fired at high temperature to impart strength and durability.These tile have a slightly more refined feel and look than classic clay Talavera tile while retaining the beautiful Talavera or folk-art look. Ceramic Mexican tile is perfect for both residential and commercial applications including indoor and outdoor kitchens, barbecues, bathroom, patios, stairs and more.
