Prima Mexican Tile - Otono Blanco

Our exquisite raised-relief decorative Prima line provides the highest quality, high fired Mexican ceramic tile. These tiles consist of a mixture of both matte and gloss finishes. These delightful, textured tiles are sometimes referred to as Malibu tile or Santa Barbara tile.

Our Prima raised-relief tiles are each individually handmade using the ancient Spanish method called Cuerda Seca (dry cord). The artists first trace the design onto a blank tile, then painstakingly applies each color of paint using a bulb syringe. Once the design is perfected, the tile is then fired at a high temperature to impart strength and durability. These tiles can have slight irregularities and differences from one to another, because of their handmade nature. The clays and the high temperature of the firing make this tile durable.

These gorgeous textured tiles are perfect for many projects, including indoor and outdoor kitchens, barbecues, bathrooms, stairs, and almost anywhere else that you want to add a splash of color and design! • ASTMC37344 Standard Test for Water Absorption, bulk density, apparent porosity, and gravity of white wave products for ceramic. Results meet with the Standard Criteria for Ceramic ANSI A 137.
• ASTMC648-04 Standard Test for Breaking Strength of Ceramic Tile. Results meet with the Standard Criteria for Ceramic Tile ANSI A 137.1
